These two had the sweetest day with the sweetest families. March in South Dakota can truly be anything, but we actually had a pretty warm day filled with sunshine and minimal snow. It was a little muddy walking back behind by the creek, but Katie & Taylor didn’t complain once. These two are darling and I’m so glad they agreed to do a first look. First looks always allow us a little more flexibility during the day and in the canyon, this is huge. We tried to sneak out for golden hour photos, but by the time family photos were done, the sun had dipped below the canyon’s rim. So we missed golden hour - if we had waited to do all of their bride and groom photos until this time, they wouldn’t have any golden sunlight in their images. And then after the ceremony, they were able to celebrate with their friends and family and get over to their dinner and reception even quicker.

We say this often, but we love what we do and the vendors and clients who make our job extra special. Mary Maisey-Ireland officiated, Kayly Shay did the beautiful pampas grass and florals, and DJ Marek was in charge of keeping the reception going. We also love Spearfish Canyon Lodge and the Latchstring Inn - these venues allow us to get breathtaking canyon views for our couples and the staff is always so wonderful to work with. When you have some of the best vendors in the business, it makes our jobs easy and we couldn’t have asked for a better couple and sweeter families to celebrate with. Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Youngbluth!
