Badlands National Park Engagement Session on Film | South Dakota Wedding Photographer

This might go down as one of my very favorite engagement sessions. Ashley & James wore the best outfits and we had an amazing evening exploring Badlands National Park. We had very little wind and only a few bison that deterred us, and all of these photos are shot completely on film with my favorite camera: my Contax645. I love how film brings out the colors of the surrounding landscape and these turned out so dreamy with the soft contrast.

It also helps that Ashley & James chose the best outfits: their first outfit was all white and helped make my photos light and airy. Outfits are so important to quality photos, especially for photos in my style. Their second outfit was a dressier outfit: black suit and dress. We chased sunlight, captured golden hour photos, and ended with a champagne toast with some of their champagne they brought back from Portugal. It was the best evening with these two and we got to sit and chat as the sun went down. Engagement sessions help us get to know our couples before their wedding day, and we are SO excited for these two to tie the knot in a few short months!
