Brooklyn + Taten | Arizona Desert | Dreamy Golden Hour Couples Session

I absolutely love to travel and I’m a sucker for golden sunlight. Last year I was fortunate enough to photograph an engagement session in the Arizona desert and it was an absolute dream. The light and the cactus and the landscape… it was unlike anything I’ve photographed before. For a light & airy photographer, the desert is an oasis. So I jumped at the opportunity to travel back to Phoenix to capture a couples session for Brooklyn & Taten a few weeks ago. These two are the cutest and they were so easy to pose. We had the best evening exploring in the desert and chasing the sunlight with them, and I was so fortunate that my sister Lynsey got to tag along with me. She has worked with me for many years, and it’s always so fun to see what we can create together.

I also recently updated to the Canon R6 Mark 2 mirrorless camera, and although I love this camera, it’s been a bit of a learning curve to appreciate and understand how it “sees” light and how to edit the colors. But this session was magic, and I’m in love with how these turned out. We had desert light, golden hour, and even sunset colors with Superstition Mountains in the back. It’s official - the desert has my heart and I can’t wait to make Arizona sessions a yearly thing. Here’s a sneak into this dreamy desert session :)
