Katarina & Nathan, or “Kate & Nate” actually got engaged on the Lover’s Leap Trailhead. So it was perfectly fitting that they chose the Lover’s Leap Overlook for their wedding ceremony. We absolutely love getting to photograph in Custer State Park with all of the beautiful outdoor locations close by.

Kate told me her wedding theme was “camping formal” and I think that’s just the cutest thing ever. She wanted everyone to come and celebrate, have a fun and relaxing time, and enjoy s’mores by the campfire with yard games, drinks, and dancing. I also loved the beautiful pops of bright blue with the bridesmaids’ dresses and all of the unique wildflower and adventure elements.

Custer State Park always has amazing food and they had bison tips for dinner complete with a coffee bar and warm mini doughnuts (we may have snuck one or two of these — so good!). Kate & Nate’s gorgeous cake and cupcakes were also pretty delicious. After the sun set, these two asked us to stay a bit longer so we could be sure to get a starry lightshot for them, and I’m so happy we did. The stars were bright & beautiful and it made for an amazing final shot of the night!
