Our first wedding of the New Year! Since it was a Friday and Tom had to teach, my lovely assistant Sophie got to help me out again. And we couldn’t have asked for a better couple to ring in 2021 - these two are so down to earth and easy-going. We live for couples like this. So relaxed and fun and natural to pose. It was a little chilly outside but for January in South Dakota, we had very little snow and amazing sunlight so we couldn’t really complain. With their afternoon ceremony time, that meant we got to do bridal portraits during golden hour portraits before the reception started. These two also had some pretty awesome vendors including Dutch Oven Catering for always-delicious food and DJ Marek who is known for his packed dance floor. Per Scott’s request and before our coverage time ended, we got to sneak them away for a few moments alone by the outdoor fireplace. I always love when grooms request photos. It’s my favorite way to end a wedding night by capturing a few last photos of just the bride & groom alone together as the festivities are winding down.
