I don’t think any of us expected it to be 28 degrees with snow on the ground for a late May wedding, but we all know how crazy our Midwest weather can be. And Katie & John were troopers and let us sneak them outside for portraits anyway, despite the cold. Luckily the auditorium at Sylvan Lake offers a lovely back-up indoor location in case weather is iffy, and their ceremony was absolutely beautiful. It was officiated by the always wonderful Mary Ireland. And during the ceremony, John even gave Lexi a beautiful promise ring after his vows to Katie.

After family portraits and our bridal portraits outside, the bride & groom rejoined their guests and celebrated with drinks & dinner, followed by delicious cake (thanks to Bakehouse — seriously, so good!) Complete Music kept the dance floor hopping after the super fun newlywed shoe game, and then we snuck the couple outside for a few final light shots as the fog was settling in over the lake.

John & Katie - we were truly honored to be a part of your day. Thanks for rocking it with us anyway, despite the crazy weather. We know you guys have a beautiful future ahead and we wish you the very best.
